Marrakech - Boumalne Dades

​At 8 am we start our journey in Marrakech. We cross the High Atlas Mountains over the Tizi N-Tichka Pass (2260m) and drive to Ouarzazate. There we will visit the famous Kasbah Ben Haddou. The 11th century Kasbah served as a filming location for famous movies and is a World Heritage Site. Afterwards we drive along the "Road of 1000 Kasbahs", which connects Ouarzazate with Errachidia and the High with the Anti-Atlas on 300 kilometers. On the way we stop in Skoura, where we visit the Amridil Kasbah, one of the oldest Kasbahs in the southeast of the country. Our destination is the oasis town of Boumalne Dades.

Boumalne Dades - Toudgha Valley - Sahara (Merzouga)

Today we drive to the Toudgha Valley with its steep red rock walls. We visit the majestic Todra Gorge, whose walls are up to 300 m high and are also popular with climbers. Afterwards we continue our drive to the south. Next stop: Erfoud, an oasis town and a true date paradise. Now things are moving fast: we reach the Sahara. We discover the impressive dune landscape of Erg Chebbi by camel. An unforgettable sunset with a view of the seemingly endless desert landscape puts us in the right mood for the evening. In the camp, in the middle of the dunes, we have dinner accompanied by the sounds of drums. The Milky Way has never been so close.

Exploring the Sahara

​We dive deeper into the desert landscape: We look at the dunes, follow the play of changing shapes and colors and get an insight into the culture and way of life of the inhabitants. We get a taste of the music style "Gnawa", which means groove, meditation, celebration and dance. Later, we have a Berber pizza, which has little in common with the Italian one, but tastes at least as delicious. The day is rounded off with a traditional dinner at the camp, accompanied by desert sounds.

After a last camel ride in the sunrise we will have a fresh shower, a rich breakfast and then we will go back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. We hope you had an unforgettable time.
